Most of us have read the Bible’s opening line, “In the beginning God created…” But what was He doing before that? What kind of God is He? Chapter 1 of The Story introduces us to who God is and His eternal nature of other-centered love.
Love naturally finds expression, and God’s love was expressed in the creation of humanity. Chapter 2 paints a picture of the world as God originally intended it to be: overflowing with complete joy, beauty, and freedom.
God’s plan was beautiful, but something went terribly wrong. His love was rejected and the freedom He gave humanity was abused. Chapter 3 dissects how this fall from love has made our world what it is today and sets the stage for the rest of Scripture.
After the Fall, God does the unthinkable. He makes a promise—a covenant—to save humanity and keep loving us at any cost to Himself. Chapter 4 traces the history of God’s covenantal faithfulness and humanity’s consistent failure to live in light of God’s promise.
Chapter 5 introduces us to the God who not only makes a promise but keeps it too: Messiah. The Old Testa

The Story is an overview of Scripture that looks at doctrine, characters—everything—in the context of the journey God has made to save humanity—the one big story. And as we study the Bible as God’s story, we begin to find our own place in that narrative.

A former professional-level skateboarder, punk rock musician, and certified rock climbing guide, David Asscherick accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior in the Spring of after reading the book, "The Great Controversy." Since his initial encounter with Jesus Christ, He has spent more than two decades traveling the globe preaching and teaching the Gospel. Currently a speaker for Light Bearer's ministry, he is the cofounder of ARISE, a discipleship ministry and is also the author of "God in Pain.".

After completing his specialty training in Cardiology, he and his wife Judy moved to Fletcher, North Carolina, where he serves as Director of the Intensive Care Unit at Park Ridge Hospital. Dr. Bailey is active in Community Health lectures and programs in the areas of cholesterol, dietary habits, early aging and decreased immune response to the average diet. David Asscherick is an American Writer and Director/Speaker well-known for his sermons at Light Bearers Ministry. He is also famous as the co-founder of ARISE. Additionally, he is known for his exceptional books.
Asscherick has appeared on Hope Channel and 3ABN. He used to be the pastor of the Troy Seventh-day Adventist Church in Troy, Michigan. He has also served as pastor at the Kingscliff Seventh-day Adventist Church in Chinderah, New South Wales, Australia for 6 years (from to ). Before becoming a pastor, Asscherick was a punk rocker.
